funny, disturbing and what are they doing???

I see so many things everyday that fall into these categories...well, pretty much everything I encounter falls into one of these categories...

to me, this from Anne Taintor's blog is hysterical...in a sick "mother knows all" sort of way...

I visit one of my clients frequently, and I have noticed a disturbing billboard on my route.

Why does a virgin need help?  Alcoholic? yes  Rape Victim? yes Gambler? yes  Virgin?  maybe applause... But really...what's the deal with this sign?  Naturally I call Lucy and Ashley at the office when I see the sign today (I was also getting the Sonic drink order...but more on that in a minute)...and I tell them about the sign...We are all laughing yet still puzzled over why a virgin needs help.  I didn't remember the phone number or web address, but I start making them up, like 1-800-feel-this or 1-800-fixugood...the possibilities are endless...

By the time I get back to the office (with Sonic drinks) Ashley has googled "Still A Virgin?" and has found out that the billboard was designed to promote Will Ferrell's movie "The Virginity Hit".  Apparently the cast from the movie answers the toll free number and a "deprived" 70,000 people called in just 5 days.

The sign went from disturbing to even more disturbing....

Then, the Sonic stop...I have a Sonic drink/ice addiction.  I don't smoke, drink (much) alcohol or use recreational drugs, but I do have a passion for Route 44 Diet Cherry Cokes...  Due to this, I have stopped at more than a few Sonic's throughout my travels...And I ALWAYS wonder the SAME thing....What are the people doing who are parked at the very end of the order stalls??  Are they closet eaters?  Are they on a Sonic stakeout?  Are they lovers - and if so, NEWS BULLETIN...YOU'RE AT A SONIC...he didn't even spring for a hotel room!  I could go on forever...

I'm sorry if you were disturbed by the post...But can you imagine how disturbed I am????

Sonic has Diet Cherry Cokes? Sounds damn good. Is it Diet Coke with actual cherry syrup in it, or is it just the fountain version of "Diet Cherry Coke"?

We called that number last night at stitching because we were all wondering what it was about. I go to Sonic every day for a Diet Dr. Pepper. Sometimes more than once a day. It would be cheaper if I would just buy an ice machine like they have. It is the best ice in the world and I will make sure to pick up a few bags for us to have at the camp this weekend. Just two more sleeps.

I have seen those crazy signs too and have wondered how are they going to help the virgin that calls. Very disturbing. Karen - I could probably get you a discount on an ice machine here at work!!!! I wonder if I could have it in by this weekend for the camp. LOL.

How do you order your Rte 44? I sometimes don't get the enough cherry syrup and sometimes they put diet syrup in there.

Barb,

So many people don't understand the complexities of the Sonic drink. I am so glad you are "one of us". I get a Diet Coke with lo-cal cherry syrup added. It sounds like you prefer the full sugar syrup. I think the common Sonic employee assumes diet syrup with a diet drink, so I suggest being a little more specific. My drink makers always seem to add the right amount of syrup - it always gives my diet coke and hint of red. The sad days are when you finish the drink and you open the lid to find not a single cherry. These are the days that I want to go back to Sonic and ask for a cherry...
