So I issued this online weight loss challenge to people in my email address list. Starts now (or when you want), ends May 1. Each participant contributes $40 and the winner (most weight lost - % wise) gets the pot. So far 11 people have jumped up for the challenge. If you want to join, let me know - the bigger the pot - the more incentive. To verify your starting weight, send me a picture of you on the scale (feet only, please!).
Now, onto the REAL reason for the post (but I had to give you the history).
I woke up this morning to the Ironman in true training form. He had already taken his picture on the scale for the record. He was cruising the Internet while eating his breakfast - I'm sure looking for tips on "Clean Eating in 2009". And his breakfast - egg whites with a black bean salsa topping and a bowl of oatmeal with fresh blackberries. And since I saw flax seed on the counter, I'm sure that it was added to one or both of his entrees.
I'm having a slower start - I made coffee and I took my xanax and zoloft - breakfast of champions! I did record my weight with a photo - that was a little disturbing, but done.
So all I have to do is follow the Ironman's lead, and I'll have this challenge in the bag - WAY easier said than done! Happy New Year! Hopefully you were smart and didn't make any resolutions - or if you did - you made ones like: I will drink more this year, or I will eat more candy this year, or I will not exercise this year. Now, those are my kind of resolutions. But since I am married to the Ironman, I'll be sticking with the Weight Loss Challenge.

Ha, ha!! You know me, if it can't be done sitting down, it ain't worth doin' !! I'm going to try the Flat Belly Diet from Prevention magazine. Let's see if I can lose 10 lbs and cut out 1/2 the belly fat and bloat in 32 days. So far so good---Istart tomorrow.
I'm in the same boat as you girl. We started our New Year off with a Resolution race (the Atlanta Track Club) that Brian and Jakob did!
Alex, Hannah and I sat on the side lines with Star Bucks and watched :)
I'd like to do this with you. So what email address do I send this to? I don't know if you remember me or not, but my name is Michelle Denicola. I met you at Scrapbook and Co. about a year and a half ago. I am friends w/Denise and Susan. I am in "AWE" of your work and I keep up w/your blog. I have never posted though. So didn't you lose weight w/your surgery??? Do I mail money now or just after the whole challenge is over?
Wish me luck!! I was on a diet and hardcore exercising (started in late Sept), but I tore a ligament....severly tore it in my knee. I was in bootcamp w/some girls in my subdivision when I did it. I have lost 13lbs and I am still trying to diet and hopefully in about 2 weeks I can start back to minimal exercise again. I have a Wii Fit and I LOVE it!!!!
I live in Atlanta.... when I met you I was living in Mandeville and I moved to the Atlanta area in March of 2008.
Michelle
Hey Michelle,
Of course I remember you! Please join us! Denise is "playing" with us. I did lose about 7 pounds after the surgery, but the doctor didn't touch my arms, double chin, inner thighs... you get the picture. So I still have some work to do. E-mail me at hhb1974@hotmail.com and I will send you all of the specifics. We are up to 15 people and still growing - so it's getting exciting! I'm glad you finally commented on the blog. I see you have a new blog - I'm going to have to check it out more after I put the girls to bed.
I love the comment about your Ironman husband. He's nuts eating all that crazy food. But we are at t-minus 90 days. I'd love to do the challenge but with getting ready for the race, I'll only be adding muscle mass and not losing!
