a productive weekend

and by productive, I mean I slept, relaxed and even watched a movie during the Scrappin with the Chicks weekend.  I could use 2 more WEEKS like that!!!!  But, alas, there are people waiting to be saved from that daunting Internal Revenue Code...

Here is a sample of what I created this weekend.  Keep in mind that my creative juices aren't quite flowing again, they go dormant from January to April, and they are still coming out of hibernation...so I "borrowed" a lot of ideas...

I started this layout in December... when my birthday actually happened...but it sure made it more fun to have this layout half way done when I started again this weekend...my favorite part of this layout is the Prima fabric flower on the left page (from my friend Melanie)... oh and I actually journalled.... it's on a very large tag hidden behind the pictures on the left page...sweet!

I love this Webster Pages paper - can you spot it?  I cut it up... the house, and the images in the top corners of the right page.  I also Glimmer Misted the background pages.  I can say I am officially addicted to Glimmer Mist.  In the 90's every page needed a button, I've moved onto Glimmer Mist...

Here is the perfect example of holding onto an embellishment forever... waiting for just the right page...what was I thinking??  I've probably had the "JOY" for five years.  What the h#$% was I waiting for?  So here it is on the Christmas Eve page where the girls were trying one last time to get on the "good" list...

This is what I call a "Slap and Stick" page.  I created this page with the Glitz Girls when they visited Memory Mania a few months ago.  The "Rebel without a Cause" was perfect for our Elvis adventure...

this is my sister's Ashley's family.  they were so cute in denim and white that I just had to load them up with flowers!  Elizabeth from Simply Scrappin' suggested that I cluster elements in the flower centers rather than just attach one thing...that suggestion MADE the layout!

these pictures make me laugh every time I look at them...so let me tell you about the blue ribbon...everyone knows I can't sew...but I REALLY want too....so I had this long blue STRAIGHT ribbon...and I walk up to Nicole Petersen and ask her if she has a needle and thread...she hands it to me... then I ask her if she can show me how to "ruffle" my ribbon with said needle and thread...she's REALLY nice or I wouldn't have pushed my luck!  I LOVE the way it came out!

you might remember this layout from a few posts ago... I used it for Nick's 2nd birthday party...another "Slap and Stick"!

I hate that each of the layouts have glare...but I don't hate it enough to read the manual on my camera!

I hope to start posting more, because that would mean I was scrapbooking more.... Be back soon!  Hey - did you laugh today????

I have some embellishments older than that. In fact, I have those same letters in individual As,Ks and Ts. Notice this implies more than one of each!! Good work, although I think Ashley will comment of "slap and stick", WTH!!

Love your productivity and your self-deprecating humor but most of all love the fact that I know you. Seriously.
