Outdoors vs. Indoors

There are two members of our family who would prefer to be inside scrapbooking, cooking, laundry - just about anything besides being outside in the hot sticky humid scalding weather. The other two members of the family like fishing, the pool, the beach, crabbing, camping, etc. If you know me, you know I fit into the indoor category and so does Morgan. As luck would have it, Morgan and I found ourselves at a "Wilderness" birthday party. Chocked full of hiking, scavenger hunt, horseback riding, tepees and a hayride. Morgan was a trooper and got right up on the horse for a ride with the birthday girl. She was even OK petting the horse. But when it came to the hayride that ended with a scavenger hunt, she came to me crying. Her belly hurt and she was too hot - I hear ya sista!!! I gently asked if she wanted to leave - she said no - damn!!! Instead, worse than going on the hayride, we had to walk behind the hayride so that we could be there for the scavenger hunt - through the woods - where we "found" real frogs - and I put on the bravest face and touched it - yuck! Then all through the woods we collected more "treasures". But they all had to be left behind for the "indian children". This was just plain ridiculous! The birthday girl opened presents and cut the cake under a tin roof lean-to - not exactly the Four Seasons... I was proud of Morgan for trying most of the "adventures" - she even rode the hayride back to the tin roof structure for the presents (I walked while manuvering through horse poo). Here are a few pictures of MY little girl -as Shane calls her, and after today, I guarantee while Shane and Avery go camping, Morgan and I will be in New York City.

Guaranteed - her favorite part was the cake and pink lemonade! Too funny, but she just came and asked me if her cheeks were still red. I told her that they weren't red anymore, and she said, "you mean they are finally back to skin color? it was hot outside mommy"... that's my girl!

the cousins

Since Collin went back to work, we have been picking Hannah up from school. How many people can fit on one sofa??? And Nick just smiles and takes it all in. Parker is too little to come out and play - but he'll be in the mix soon - 5 cousins under 5 - Who thought this was a good idea???

Another RubOn PSA...

I have said this before, but after using rubons twice this weekend on different projects - I'm convinced rubons have the shelf life of Full Fat Milk! Ugh! From now on, I will use a pack of Rubons the minute I buy them. Just reminding you so you don't suffer the same fate! heather

Parker update

First - seriously - who looks this good after having a baby? Only Ashley...

OK - so really not an update, I mean not much happens in the first 24 hours, but Big Sister Hannah met Parker. Here's the crazy part - Hannah keeps calling Parker "Baby Nick". She just associates baby boys with "Baby Nick". I think Collin might need some Xanax if she doesn't start calling him Parker soon and Ashley is drugged so she thinks it's funny.
Hannah is doing well with her "Baby Nick" AKA Parker Austin... as long as Daddy doesn't go too far...

Collin did well yesterday, allowing people to actually breathe in Parker's airspace, but I have a feeling this will be a Hannah repeat - I may never get to hold him again. At least Jen got some Parker love when she could...

It's a Boy!

Parker Austin McQuiddy was born at 8:15 am. He weighs 7 pounds, 15 ounces and he is 20 1/4 inches long. Now that the details are out of the way - HE IS FABULOUS!!!! He looks exactly like Hannah did when she was born. Sadly, I just didn't feel it was right to tear Parker out of his parents' or grandparents' arms, so I haven't snuggled with him yet - but everybody better watch out, b/c I can't wait to get my hands on him! Now Baby Nick has a boy cousin - together they'll be keeping those girls and their dresses far away! Enjoy the pictures...

Collin is a very smart man - the infamous "Push" ring...

I hit a creative streak...

Unfortunately, it is hindering my REAL job - but I'll get to that stuff later. It was helped by Angel and Cori and our day of scrapbooking. I was able to finish my last class layout...

We had a great turnout for the class - 7 people and one person reserved a kit. We had tons of fun and I gave away four door prizes. I'll start working on ideas for August's class - maybe anniversary, the pool, and first day of school. Leave a comment if you have a suggestion...

I cranked out two layouts with M&A's school work - both were too cute to put away in the closet (OK - let's be honest - the trash can)

Then I did two layouts on Baby Nick's Baptism - one at the church and one at his party. I even got out the heat embossing powder for the swirls on the church page.

(Baby Nick got a little tired of the ceremony - hey - we feel the same way about church!)

I have hidden journaling behind the big picture block on the right page. It's my new thing right now - I want to tell the story, but it just doesn't fit ON the page...

Then I created the layout of my beautiful pregnant sis, she is having that baby on Friday morning at 8am (c-section) - I can't wait to meet my newest niece or nephew - she is one of the only people on the planet who didn't find out the sex of the baby... Maybe I should start a sex, height, weight pool. I could make some $$$...

The "Official" Graduation picture from Pre-K - luckily BEFORE the meltdown

I was losing inspiration about this time, so Cori and I switched layouts. She did this one of the girls playing in the "Pool" for me... Cori is the queen of bright colors - I love this layout!

Lastly, I created two more things for the Holiday Bazaar. The New Orleans date is Sept 14, and Baton Rouge date is October 12. We are getting more vendors everyday. There will be a variety of items for sale - from homemade bath salts to jewelry (with my stuff in between somewhere - this is a shameless plug). The event is open to the public, so leave me a comment and your contact info if you want more info.

I almost forgot "Vegas Avery". This layout was copied STRAIGHT from Heidi Swapp's blog. Some things are just too good, and you are forced to copy them.

Scrapbook and Co. News

The next 3 for $33 class is July 15. Two of the layouts are shown below, the third is undergoing the "creative" process (slowly), but I can show you the paper. Plus this time we are DOODLING on our layout, so everyone gets a brand new Ranger White Ink Pen - probably my most favorite thing in the world! Last class was a blast - we had prizes (Remember - layouts created by me for you!), and some people even opted for a kit when they couldn't make it to class. The kits include color pics and step by step instructions.

Check out all of this white ink - you are going to do that!

We won't cut your title until class - but if you don't need Graduation, other ideas are "Awards Day", "School Days", "First Day of School", "School Friends".... If you know your title, tell the girls at Co. when you sign up, then we can have it ready for you.

Poor Layout :( Think I got Scrapper's Block when I started this one. When I see this paper, I think if mischevious boys/camp outs/fishing/adventurous little girls in trees....

So come join us on July 15 - I promise you'll laugh out loud! heather

PS - If you know a beginner, we are having our Beginner Scrapbookers Class on July 28th - All students get 25% off in the store during the class. Also - check out the FABULOUS sale Denise is having at Co this week...

Nick's Baptism

Baby Nick was precious and so happy! Uncle Jason flew in from Denver - he is Nick's Godfather and Susan (Dominick's sister) is the Godmother. Nick wore the same Christening Gown that both Dominick and Susan wore - it had a beautiful "S" monogrammed on the bottom. Baby Nick didn't even cry with the water or the oil - he was such a trooper! Enjoy the photos!
If I hadn't taken this picture myself I would have thought it was staged...
Apparently the Baptism was a little too long for Baby Nick...
Ash is going to kill me for this one, but she looks fantastic and we only have 13 more days!!
Back at the house, Baby Nick got to cut the first piece of cake...
Baby Nick was cracking up at Uncle Jason while Aunt Ami was holding him.
Then, I think GiGi must have doubled up on her meds, because she took Morgan, Avery, Hannah and Emily outside to walk RileyDog.
Jason caught up with GiGi and NeNe and BawBaw (that means GiGi and her two sisters - but around here, everyone has a nickname)
And lastly, me and Averybird...
With the conglomeration of people at Nick's party, there was plenty of laughing - and that's always a good thing!

Learn from my mistakes...

I always save scrapbooking supplies for that "perfect special layout". Here's the problem - Apparently RubOns have a shelf life. I have been challenging myself to use up my current supply of inventory before buying too many new supplies. And yes, "inventory" does imply enough to stock a retail store... But the older RubOns are terrible :( So next time you buy RunOns - treat yourself and use them right away - every layout is special because it is preserving a precious memory. I hope that memory makes you laugh out loud!

PS - My girls are watching Handy Manny, and the hammer just said, " I never tire of nailing". The hammer must be male...

More creativity happening here...

Here is the layout from all four cousins in the condo in Gulf Shores...

How nice of Avery's teacher to use such cute "your child is BAD" notes... What wasn't so nice was when Avery laughed when I "talked" to her about it - future looks bright...

My girls from ScrapEtc in April

And a few new items for the Holiday Bazaar...

Now go create something and send me a picture!!!! heather
