The THREAD Holiday Bazaar

Some of you may know that my sister Jen is part owner of a monogramming business. THREAD is hosting two Holiday Bazaars - in New Orleans on September 14, and in Baton Rouge on October 12.

I'm SO excited to be a part of this "soon to be" annual event! I have been cranking out scrapbooks, home decor items, cards, picture frames.... All to sell at the events. Apparently, we know a ton of business owners - and they all want to be involved. We'll have Mary Kay, Southern Living, a Calling Card/Gift Card Designer, Pampered Chef, a Jewelry Designer, and best of all - Linda from Sincerely Sweets - you will DIE when you try her Brownie Bliss Truffles! Here are a few sneak peaks at what I have created...

Mini LSU Albums to celebrate last year's National Championship, 100% Boy flip album, and an 8x8 Baby Girl Album
I love these decorated words. I"ll have plenty in different color schemes and themes.
A 6x6 Baby Boy Album, an album for your little athlete, a book to celebrate the 10 most influential people in your life and look at those notecards! A Fleur de Lis, streetcar, pelican, Saxophone and soon to be a plantation and a crown. These will be sold in sets with one of each design.
Both events are open to the public, so if you are interested - drop me a note with your e-mail address and I'll make sure to keep you in the loop.
Check back as I post more items for the Bazaar... Remember - find something today that makes you laugh out loud! heather

Latest Health Update

Staph has invaded my body once again. Or maybe I should say it has erupted. Out of nowhere - HUGE knot on my leg. So I go to the doctor (an after hours one, not my regular MD). I jokingly ask, "Is Staph like Herpes? Am I always going to be waiting for the next outbreak? Do I need Valtrex?" I thought this was hysterical - him - not so much. My regular MD would have laughed, at least.

"After hours" doc just said, "We need to kill it." Thanks Mr. Personality! Two antibiotics shots, two oral antibiotics for 2 weeks, and the most expensive tube of cream ever, and I guess I'm on the rode to recovery.

Now - How beautiful is Ashley? Of course she feels large, hot and generally uncomfortable - but she looks amazing. July 18 at 8am - I'll be at the hopsital waiting to meet my new niece or nephew. I have a hunch I'm getting a second nephew - I can't wait!

I have the day off!

The girls just left for school and I'm about to crawl back in bed. Then tonight I am working the crop at Scrapbook and Co. I only have 2 things on my to do list today - sleep today and laugh tonight - always good medicine for the soul! Enjoy your day!

Ever have one of those days?

Right now both girls are screaming their heads off. Of course, they are screaming for Daddy. I put them in time out after they finished 3 rounds of hair pulling, face slapping and yelling. Good stuff!

I figured a blog post might give me a few minutes to calm my nerves - it's better than all of the alternatives!

Daddy is working late, so I guess I'll have to summon the courage to move away from this computer and face the little gems again. Wish me luck!

No "Stagefright" here...

And then here's the opposite of the graduation scenario... I'm thinking Avery may be headed for the Vegas strip with that headdress...

Pre-K Graduation

Or "The Disaster" as others may call it... Weeks of practicing the graduation program... Ironing the sash and gown... Planning the party at Morgan's favorite Mexican restaurant... Ordering the graduation photos... and then... the MELTDOWN... Thankfully I snapped ONE picture before graduation started...
Because as you'll see, there was no need for my Kleenex, Morgan cried enough tears for everyone in attendance...
After the ceremony. of course she found comfort in Daddy's arms.
And then, after all of the commotion settled down, the only two girls who cried during the festivities (who happen to be best friends) were ALL SMILES.
I'm taking comfort in the fact that we'll never had to take dance lesson, music lesson or try out for cheerleading, because she would never make it through the reviews, the recitals or the performances.
It's OK though, Morgan came home from GiGi's house last night and told me she just had a "little stagefright"...
