When life gives you lemons... stuff them in your bra!

This is Debby Schuh...

This is me (and Morgan)....but not... Debby Schuh....

Scrapbooks and More in Denham Springs was planning a big event where Debby was flying all the way from New York to teach three classes.  Due to yucky complications that everybody hates...Debby's kits will be in Denham, but Debby will not be here...

As you can imagine, this presented an opportunity for Scrapbooks and More to be able to offer Debby's fabulous projects, yet a dilema as to finding a teacher.  Shelly (the owner) is pretty swift, so she started asking around for suggestions on who might teach Debby's projects.  She quickly found out that I am one of Debby's biggest stalkers fans.  I was literally blindsided and flattered when Shelly called and asked me to teach the classes.  This will be my first time teaching at Scrapbooks and More since my previous home Scrapbooks & Co. closed.

So I can't offer the star power that Debby brings to each of her classes, but I'm hoping to bribe you with goodies!  Both layout classes are being taught on Saturday, October 23.  Each class will cost $27.  Debby created these layouts just for Scrapbooks and More - and they are perfect!

I know there are the Christmas traditionalists who only scrapbook in red and green, but for those of you that tiptoe into pink territory......

Debby created this layout using the Echo Park Christmas line with embellishments from American Crafts, Little Yellow Bicycle, Bazzill Basics, and May Arts.

and I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it....

the Seaside Collection from October Afternoon instantly transports me to the beach watching toddlers with white hats playing in the sand...Debby incorporated two mini books on the layout so you can really load it with pictures...perfect for that HUGE family trip to the beach...

I am humbled, excited, nervous, and jumping up and down at the prospect of teaching Debby Schuh's projects at Scrapbooks and More.  Someone please pinch me!  But in order to pinch me - you have to join me on October 23!!!  Hope to see you then.

visit Scrapbooks and More for the full details on Debby's layouts and then call the store at 225.665.9478.

Join me in congratulating...

the Kit-A-Licious girls...I'm talking girls gone wild good...They've gone LIVE...on the web...selling like crazy...kits on their online site...and even more exciting...there was a customer in the first half hour of announcement (and no this was not a relative or a practical joke....damn...I should have thought of that though...)

So if you have met the Kit-A-Licious crew at one of the recent scrapping events (Scrapfest, GiGi's, Scrappin on the River...to name a few) or if you are just in need of quality reasonably priced kits, then please check them out.

If you are new to Kit-A-Licious and you purchase a kit after reading my blog - make sure you include something in the comments/email that mentions me, and I'll throw some special goodies in your package as a Big Thank You for supporting the Kit-A-Licious girls!

And for all of the outstanding super women in my life....don't forget....

hope your week is filled with laughs!

a trip to InSpiRE....

I love when new scrapbook stores open in my area...and by that I mean in a tri-state area...have something fresh and new...will travel...and travel I did today....

Once again my one hour trip to Inspire (a new lss in Thibodeaux) became a three hour tour...I told Shane once and for all...I am buying the cheapest car with Onstar...I am a fairly intelligent person...but when I get in the car I'm like a babbling blundering idiot...enough about me... let's talk about INSPIRE!!!  let me just show you... it's easier (and prettier)

Ashley's displays were perfect!  Just look at the Studio Calico Elementary Line displayed with vintage school books and real #2 pencils...and did you notice what they are sitting on...an old stove from grandma's house...this chalkboard is awesome for 2 reasons...One ~ it means Ashley sells things by the piece...she must know we all love to touch and feel all things vintage and Two ~ it's so stinkin' CUTE!

The store displays were vintage school desks, chippy tables, squeaky armoires (I didn't hear them squeak, but they probably would...), old trunks, sewing drawers, large glassware....

Everyone was very friendly and talkative and Ashley's...well...Ashley's young and pretty...did I mention young???  Even though she probably doesn't remember Blair from the Facts of Life (not that I'm jealous...) she has a fantastic store with a great mix of product (Studio Calico, lots of Tim, Margie, Pink Paislee, October Afternoon, Prima, Maya to name a few) and she has great talent.  All of the store samples were really inspiring...I can't wait to go back and I hope you make a trip to meet her very soon!  Good Luck Ashley...I'll be back to visit again soon!!!  (I'm going to slather on the eye cream now....)

creativity...

I spent last weekend at my friend Karen's camp at Lake Rosemound and we were mostly  hardly serious about scrapbooking... I did finish some pages but most of all the weekend sparked my creative juices...so I've actually created more this week...here we go...Webster's Pages for some Orange Beach pictures...

the Girl's Loft kit...

I will never get enough Webster's Pages....

random "from my stash" supplies... the kites are my favorites...

the Glitz Girls Kismet collection...

This last layout was created from a Nicole Petersen Designs DVD class.  It was so fun and I could pause it everytime the animals children needed to be fed.

More Mia....

after the darvocet, phenergan and benadryl combo (two times), almost 24 hours of continuous sleep, a massage to loosen the muscles in my neck and shoulders, the migraine is gone...I say that hesitantly...

But my girls were determined to see Mia Kate today after school, so we made it to the hospital...me with VERY dark sunglasses...but we made it...

And she is even more beautiful today!

we are having a run on baby girls...bryan and andy seely had Kyla on friday and jen and kenny inman had baby girl inman today (no name as of yet....)

three baby girls in 6 days!  all healthy and beautiful - just like their mommies!

funny, disturbing and what are they doing???

I see so many things everyday that fall into these categories...well, pretty much everything I encounter falls into one of these categories...

to me, this from Anne Taintor's blog is hysterical...in a sick "mother knows all" sort of way...

I visit one of my clients frequently, and I have noticed a disturbing billboard on my route.

Why does a virgin need help?  Alcoholic? yes  Rape Victim? yes Gambler? yes  Virgin?  maybe applause... But really...what's the deal with this sign?  Naturally I call Lucy and Ashley at the office when I see the sign today (I was also getting the Sonic drink order...but more on that in a minute)...and I tell them about the sign...We are all laughing yet still puzzled over why a virgin needs help.  I didn't remember the phone number or web address, but I start making them up, like 1-800-feel-this or 1-800-fixugood...the possibilities are endless...

By the time I get back to the office (with Sonic drinks) Ashley has googled "Still A Virgin?" and has found out that the billboard was designed to promote Will Ferrell's movie "The Virginity Hit".  Apparently the cast from the movie answers the toll free number and a "deprived" 70,000 people called in just 5 days.

The sign went from disturbing to even more disturbing....

Then, the Sonic stop...I have a Sonic drink/ice addiction.  I don't smoke, drink (much) alcohol or use recreational drugs, but I do have a passion for Route 44 Diet Cherry Cokes...  Due to this, I have stopped at more than a few Sonic's throughout my travels...And I ALWAYS wonder the SAME thing....What are the people doing who are parked at the very end of the order stalls??  Are they closet eaters?  Are they on a Sonic stakeout?  Are they lovers - and if so, NEWS BULLETIN...YOU'RE AT A SONIC...he didn't even spring for a hotel room!  I could go on forever...

I'm sorry if you were disturbed by the post...But can you imagine how disturbed I am????

"Just for Girls" day...

While we were at Justice spending Morgan's bday gift card, she named the day "Just for Girls".  These girls SHOPPED 'till they dropped!  Both M&A were using allowance and gift cards received recently for graduation and bday.  It was so funny to see the different shopping styles.  Avery is a girl after my own heart....FRUGAL!!!!  Wanting to choose the cheaper item, just in case something fantastic was around the next corner.

Case in point...

Here they are in the dressing room at Justice.  These tops will be partnered with the black legging capris we have already.  The tops were $24 each.  Morgan was gung ho...no turning back...Avery found another shirt that was priced $12 and decided on that instead.

Next stop... The GAP...Morgan $13, Avery $3...and I must say, Avery's top is WAY cuter!

From there we visited Scrapbook and Co., ate McDonald's with Melanie and Bailey (after we invited ourselves to their house), we went to Toys 'R Us (no frugalness here....Avery went all out...I even had to spot her $4....she will be doing a lot of laundry this week to work off her debt...), then Michael's, Marshall's, Burlington and finally Target - where I was pushing the girls in the basket because they were EXHAUSTED!

Then home to a delicious dinner of shrimp and feta pasta cooked by Ironman - my favorite!   The girls have full bellies and are playing with the new Moxie dolls (of course we bought the "Avery" Moxie doll)...

a very good "Just for Girls" day....

Texts from Last Night...

My friend Rachel told me about this site yesterday...I was actually calling her with a legitimate tax question, and of course, we got off topic.  Now don't go to Texts From Last Night if you are easily offended by sexual comments, and definitely don't go if you don't want to LAUGH YOUR A$$ OFF!!!!

OMG - I'm never going to work again....  Here's one of the cleaner texts that made me cackle (god, I love that word!)

(570):

I just don't see what's wrong with carrying a water bottle around.

(1-570):

It's not the bottle. It's the fact that you're drinking wine out of a sport bottle at 9 am.

here's another one:

(905):

She always manages to outslut me. I can't keep up

and that one deserves a follow up from Anne Taintor...

It's gonna be a good day :)
