Another "Paper Girl" layout...

Morgan has been waiting for her layout to be finished.  She is actually on the upstairs computer watching my blog until her layout is posted.... oh no... not kidding...

I am in love with the Bazzill Vintage Buttons.  Scrapbook and Co. has them and I think I need a re-stock!  The awesome crocheted flower was handmade by my friend Sandy Horton (aka HoHo).  I have been saving it for the perfect page - and I finally found it!  Also, these Thickers just say "girly" to me - I may need a few more packs to make it through the summer!

A new layout with "Paper Girl"

As each new piece arrives at Scrapbook and Co, I run over to "collect" it.  I'm talking about The Girl's Paperie from Margie Aslett.  Here's a layout I did with Avery's picture from the park

I used some of the $5.99 a yard fabric trim from Hobby Lobby and Glimmer Misted it to make the pink and green flowers along the bottom.  I also used some Caramel Apple Glimmer Mist to darken the dress form (it wasn't really showing up before then).  I'm telling you, I'm a Glimmer Mist addict!

like Fred and Ginger...

Thelma and Louise...Margaritas and Salt....Men and the Remote...the possibilities are endless....

Kit-A-Licious and Scrapbook and Co. have created a union, not quite a marriage, we'll refer to it as "living in sin"...don't tell their moms....

Now Scrapbook and Co. customers have access to FANTASTIC double page kits at FANTASTIC prices ($10, $12 and $14) and the Kit-A-Licious followers have a retail outlet to buy kits in between scrapbook events.  I'm tearing up, it's beautiful...

Here's a peak at the cohabitation...

So go ahead, congratulate the happy couple with a big SMOOCH!!!!

multi-tasking gone VERY wrong...

Warning - this could happen to you if you are trying to put in the sixth load of laundry, put fresh sheets on the bed, load the dishwasher, hand wash the new pot, wash the girls hair, and inspect their teeth after brushing.

You'll know the smell as soon as you walk out of the girls' bathroom...  Hope your house is smelling better than mine :)

kind of like potted meat, some supplies stay "fresh" forever....

in an effort to reduce my carbon footprint...nothing was purchased to create the following 2 layouts...(in the last week...)   but some stuff was REALLY old...I"ll list the REALLY OLD stuff!

old Anna Griffin paper
the red glittery transparency my friend Teri gave me probably 2 1/2 years ago
the white letters were a $1 splurge at Dollar Tree
the metal crown - was Morgan born yet?
the "blue" letters were from the major 99c Advantus clearance (Swapp circa 2005)
I would guess my first trip to Arbor Oaks was two years ago - that's when I bought the green jewels and butterfly
The background paper on the "blue" page is from the pre-Gustav 10c sale rack at Co.
The zipper embellishment was on the clearance rack at Charming Charlie's - a pin? - I think not!
The Hambly rubons and transparencies - when did Hambly go into business?

Now for something new (but not in the last week)... I was drooling over Webster's Pages new "Bloomers" trim.  A package is around $7 and none of my local stores was carrying it.  My friend Karen showed me some trim she bought at Hobby Lobby...it comes in plenty of colors and it's $5.99 a yard (before your 40% off coupon).  That is the white trim you see at the bottom of Morgan's "BLUE" layout.  I misted it with some Glacier Glimmer Mist which helped to soften the bright white.  I am in love for two reasons - 1. I can mist it any color and 2. It's CHEAP!!!!!

this was such a fun way to document the girl's favorite colors (this week anyway)...

and to think that I'm only using one tenth of my brain!

title c/o Anne Taintor....

So I just cut the grass and then popped open a cold Michelob Ultra...  If I were a man I would now turn on ESPN, scratch somewhere... and continue to congratulate myself on a job well done.

But you see, I'm a woman, so before I cut the grass I started the laundry and the dishes.  After the grass (while drinking a cold one), I watched over the girls while bathing to make sure one didn't drown the other, folded a load of clothes, put another load in, picked up the den and quickly tried to dig through my scrapbooking stash looking for the perfect accent for my latest page.  Now that the girls are dry and clothed, they are asking for dinner #4...Morgan is having a meltdown because we are out of brussel sprouts...I have pacified her with edamame...Avery wants cheese pizza with black olives...naturally we don't have that kind so I'm opening a can of black olives to place on top of cheese pizza... oh the wonders never cease...

As soon as I have this layout finished I will post it.  I love the idea of the picture in the layout...

Oh - and here's the April winner of the Anne Taintor caption contest.  I LOVE these PEOPLE!!!!

now if that didn't make you laugh out loud, then we need to have a talk...

a productive weekend

and by productive, I mean I slept, relaxed and even watched a movie during the Scrappin with the Chicks weekend.  I could use 2 more WEEKS like that!!!!  But, alas, there are people waiting to be saved from that daunting Internal Revenue Code...

Here is a sample of what I created this weekend.  Keep in mind that my creative juices aren't quite flowing again, they go dormant from January to April, and they are still coming out of hibernation...so I "borrowed" a lot of ideas...

I started this layout in December... when my birthday actually happened...but it sure made it more fun to have this layout half way done when I started again this weekend...my favorite part of this layout is the Prima fabric flower on the left page (from my friend Melanie)... oh and I actually journalled.... it's on a very large tag hidden behind the pictures on the left page...sweet!

I love this Webster Pages paper - can you spot it?  I cut it up... the house, and the images in the top corners of the right page.  I also Glimmer Misted the background pages.  I can say I am officially addicted to Glimmer Mist.  In the 90's every page needed a button, I've moved onto Glimmer Mist...

Here is the perfect example of holding onto an embellishment forever... waiting for just the right page...what was I thinking??  I've probably had the "JOY" for five years.  What the h#$% was I waiting for?  So here it is on the Christmas Eve page where the girls were trying one last time to get on the "good" list...

This is what I call a "Slap and Stick" page.  I created this page with the Glitz Girls when they visited Memory Mania a few months ago.  The "Rebel without a Cause" was perfect for our Elvis adventure...

this is my sister's Ashley's family.  they were so cute in denim and white that I just had to load them up with flowers!  Elizabeth from Simply Scrappin' suggested that I cluster elements in the flower centers rather than just attach one thing...that suggestion MADE the layout!

these pictures make me laugh every time I look at them...so let me tell you about the blue ribbon...everyone knows I can't sew...but I REALLY want too....so I had this long blue STRAIGHT ribbon...and I walk up to Nicole Petersen and ask her if she has a needle and thread...she hands it to me... then I ask her if she can show me how to "ruffle" my ribbon with said needle and thread...she's REALLY nice or I wouldn't have pushed my luck!  I LOVE the way it came out!

you might remember this layout from a few posts ago... I used it for Nick's 2nd birthday party...another "Slap and Stick"!

I hate that each of the layouts have glare...but I don't hate it enough to read the manual on my camera!

I hope to start posting more, because that would mean I was scrapbooking more.... Be back soon!  Hey - did you laugh today????
