the Audubon Zoo...

It took a big hit from Hurricane Katrina, but, now almost three years later, you wouldn't even know it. It was just as awesome as when I was a little girl. We went for Molly's 5th birthday and stayed most of the day. The girls were OBSESSED with seeing the alligators. They didn't care about any of the other animals - I mean who likes the alligators???
The wonder and surprise on Avery's face was too precious!

This is the most awesome fountain at the zoo!
Daddy and his girls...
And last, but not least, one of my favorite childhood memories of all...

Absence does make the heart grow fonder...

When I left for Nashville, the girls had been making me NUTS!!! Granted, I had the stress of tax season looming for weeks, and I was sleep deprived, but really, they weren't seeming very cute and lovable then. Since I got back, I realize I just needed some R&R, because I have been having so much fun with Morgan and Avery. Who knew chalk and sidewalk could provide so much entertainment? We've taken walks, gotten snowballs, gone bike riding, and I'm loving every minute!
PS - I bought these shirts in Nashville, "Well behaved Cowgirls RARELY make history" - were they specially designed with my children in mind???

Recovering from blog withdrawal...

Tax season definitely puts a damper on blogging - and scrapbooking!

If you haven't heard of the National Scrapbook Weekend Crop in Baton Rouge - check it out at

http://www.2scrappinchicks.com/

It's the first year for the event. You can either crop for 50 straight hours or take classes, or do some of both. I'm teaching a class on Friday night from 5:30 to 7 - here are the two layouts.

This one is perfect for your bug lover, the siblings that NEVER stop aggrivating each other, or pictures of sad legs covered in bug bites (I happen to have pictures of all three).

This layout was inspired by Angelia Wigginton's "love" layout. Bring your pictures and complete even MORE layouts during the weekend.

I will also have some other kits for sale. One is "EIEIO" for your farm or petting zoo pics. Another is "Xtreme Sports" and hopefully I can create two flowery girly layouts before the event.

I can't wait to catch up on my own scrapbooking - I took a zillion pictures during tax season, but there wasn't a creative bone left in my body after leaving the office. And after SE, I have a million ideas running around my head just waiting to come out!

Hope to see you at the event!

If you haven't heard Jason Mraz...

you are TOTALLY missing out! Shane and I went to the House of Blues last night in New Orleans for his concert. It was so awesome! Thanks to Steph's brother Michael, we scored passes to the Foundation Room and watched the show from the balcony. Probably best, because everyone on the floor looked 18 to me...

Check out his website at

http://www.jasonmraz.com

and be sure to find the You Tube links under "Media".

That's Bushwalla with the 'fro, Jason in the middle and Toca (your eyes are NOT playing tricks on you - he is on stage in his underwear...)

I leave for a few days....

And somehow the girls found the Fashion Show Set that I hid after Christmas! I have a feeling that Uncle Bryan (the giver of this fabulous gift) may have helped... The "catwalk" actually lights up and pumps blaring music from the speakers. On cue, Shane grabbed the camera to capture the craziness - what else could I ask for?

Just got back from SE'08

So much fun! On the plane home I was furiously writing down products I want, books I must read, blog links I have to add to my blog. Every part of the trip was inspiring, exciting, energizing (oh - except waking up at 3:45 am on both of my travel days) and FILLED with laughs - hysterical eyes watering, face and stomach hurting laughs - the best kind!

I already miss Steph, Angel and Cori, and I may seriously invade Steph's house with my girls this summer.

I will post pics soon, but I had my mom's camera and she took it with her today - ahhh, love mom, she took the girls to the Cinderella ballet, so I was able to nap this afternoon. PS - this will be the first entry in each of the girls' summer adventures scrapbook (care of the Creative Cafe class - which I totally skipped after picking up my kit)

The perfect end to this fabulous week - Shane is at Walmart and is bringing home shrimp poboys in a few minutes - I am a lucky woman!

I'm still on the hunt for a store that carries BOTH the MM journaling notebook AND the Spring Creative Cafe colors. If you know of one - please post!

My first (and LAST) photo shoot...

So the diet program I went on called and asked if I would come in and do a photo shoot for their new ad campaign. And said yes and then panicked afterward...

Here are a few of the zillions of shots they took. As you can see, I'm not exactly supermodel material - I was laughing at myself in more than half of the pictures! I have seen the new brochure (not cheesy like here's Heather before and after), and the magic of photo shop is AMAZING! (PS - these unfortunately were NOT edited!)
